It's been a while ...
I have been missing from here, but I've contributed to other platforms. Here's a list of my most recent material published by different outlets.
The first on the list is America, the Melting Pot?, my starting contribution to the fantastic Democracy Paradox blog created by Justin Kempf. This is a must-read website for those interested in democracy and its current challenges. Also, the Democracy Paradox podcast is among the best (and one of my favorites). Here’s the most recent episode with Prof. Larry Diamond if you haven’t yet listened to it.
The second article, Local political participation in China or the myth of popular democracy, is the last of my series on China (in Spanish) for Diálogo Político, where I look at the Chinese version of democracy at the local level. Their podcast (in Spanish), Bajo La Lupa, is also among my favorites. You can catch one of the latest episodes featuring our paper (in Spanish and Portuguese) on Russia with my co-author, Johanna Cilano.
My second article for Democracy Paradox, The Evolving Latino Voter, looks at the role Latino/Hispanic voters have in the electoral landscape of the United States.
In a guest post for Caracas Chronicles, An Opposition That Outsourced Its Duties, I reflect on the Venezuelan Opposition’s road to nowhere and the consequences for the people.
After the first round of the Brazilian presidential election, I wrote about the Latin American electoral map for Democracy Paradox, Latin America’s Pendulum .
And finally, for Australian Outlook: The Colombia and Venezuela Reset, my take on the effort by Colombia and Venezuela in reestablishing diplomatic relationships, with the challenges facing ahead.
Have a great weekend!
¡Feliz fin de semana!
